SemiWorks is the semiconductor fabrication division of the Wisconsin Robotics Science Team (WRST). WRST develops scientific instrumentation for the Wisconsin Robotics team for the University Rover Challenge. With strong investment from Jeffrey Liu, UW SWAP, and the UW Physics Department, we are quickly growing our capabilities to enable device fabrication at bargain basement costs. The basement of the MechE building, to be specific. It's really crowded down here.
Though SemiWorks currently lacks the reliable and precise instrumentation found in most fabs, we are nevertheless developing powerful instrumentation that is unreliable and imprecise, but made from microwaves and surplus parts. We believe that this strategy will allow us to massively undercut billion-dollar fabs operated by companies like TSMC and Global Foundries, allowing us to take over the global semiconductor market.
